Actively developed · core interfaces stabilizing
Build agents like building blocks.
ModexAgent is a modular, composable Python framework for AI agent systems — graph-driven ReAct, interruptible approval, multi-agent collaboration, and a browser WebUI. Don't reinvent wheels. Connect them.
Core capabilities
Every layer is pluggable — take what you need, replace what you don't.
Graph-driven ReAct
A standalone typed graph engine (modex_graph). Interrupt mid-run, persist state, resume exactly where it stopped. Six-node turn lifecycle with graph-internal continuation.
Interruptible Approval
Sensitive tool calls pause for a human go-ahead. Tiered policies, cascade cancel, off by default.
Multi-Agent Collaboration
Declarative agent trees per pool, peer messaging across pools. Three derived tools — task, send_to_agent, send_to_peer.
Multi-tier Memory
Always-on session compaction, with opt-in Archive and Core Memory per pool. The Dream Engine consolidates; Experience distills reusable knowledge.
Cross-platform Terminal
WinPTY, ConPTY, pexpect and tmux behind one interface. Visible and headless PTY modes, persistent per-conversation shells.
Browser WebUI
React + Vite frontend: streaming chat, TodoPanel, per-turn model picker, scope editor, graph workflows, multi-workspace tabs.
One pipeline, every channel
I/O adapters are fully decoupled from agent logic.
Running in three minutes
ModexBot ships as a Windows installer package — no Python toolchain required.
Download
Grab the latest ModexBot-Setup-x.x.x.exe installer from GitHub Releases.
Run the installer
It bundles the Python runtime, all dependencies and the WebUI frontend — nothing else to install.
Start chatting
The WebUI opens on launch. Add your model API key in Settings — QQ and Telegram adapters ship out of the box.
Install only what you need
Optional capability packs for framework development — pull in one extra, or everything.
